A young patient shares a story with his pediatric oncology team.

Pediatric hematologists-oncologists evaluate, diagnose and treat patients from infancy to young adulthood who have diseases or disorders of the blood or blood-forming tissues as well as cancerous and non-cancerous tumors. Most hematologic disorders and malignancies that occur in infants, children or teens are uncommon and require a highly sophisticated approach to diagnosis and treatment. In order to provide the most comprehensive care, pediatric hematology-oncology specialists practice in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of cancer specialists, medical sub-specialists and support staff.

Services for children with cancer are provided at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hoops Family Children's Hospital.
